Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Typically, 1-year relevant professional experience completing design assignments across a wide range of traditional applications (e.g. publications, posters, event-support, static displays, presentation-support, illustrations, etc.).
- Expert-level proficiency in the use of Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to generate and process bitmap and vector source artwork at the highest professional level, utilizing programs such as Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator (or equivalent).
- Ability to apply design principles to the development and publication of organizational information.
- Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and creative resources, to achieve project objectives.
- Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought, and orderliness of presentation.
- Ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
- Strong interest in learning/employing generative AI tools to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity of media production work.
- Ability to produce motion graphics/animation to communicate messages narratively.
- Experience developing AI-augmented workflows to improve the quality and efficiency of media production work.
- Ability to establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships with colleagues within and external to own unit, and those to whom services are provided.
- Extensive knowledge of cost/quality/turnaround factors and considerations of various design and production techniques.
- Experience collaborating with fellow creative professionals (photographers, illustrators, etc.) and/or effectively employing generative AI to yield source material for use in designs.
- Highly proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation applications.
- Experience producing ADA-accessible media, and ability to remediate non-accessible media to meet ADA accessibility standards.
Desirable:
- Experience working with various boards and paper stocks; types of cameras; scanners, and printers; adhesives; laminates and laminators; and mounting materials.
- Experience providing graphics-related training and support.
- Experience producing media in any adjacent technical fields, such as: video production, commercial photography, 3-D modeling, audio/radio, website development, or interactive media.
- Experience developing AI tools or agents.
