Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and the ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Safety Driving Record Review Standards.
  • Willingness and ability to work hours outside of regular schedule and weekends.
  • Professional experience (5 years – 7 years) of custodial leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of custodial experience is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrates a working proficiency in use of computers and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates a working proficiency in the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups while appreciating the unique contribution of people of all backgrounds and perspectives. 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, engage in teamwork and develop self to prepare for new or changing assignments, processes, people or priorities as organizational needs dictate at a working proficiency level.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of commercial custodial experience.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong commitment to teamwork and customer service experience.
  • Reasonable experience in handling multiple assignments, conflicting demands and priorities.
  • Basic experience in a work site covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
  • Working experience in staff development and training.
  • Experience overseeing a large diverse workforce.
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures.
  • Experience working in a residence hall, apartment complex, hospital, nursing home or similar residential facility.
  • Experience in minor equipment and building repairs.
  • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
