Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
  • Typically, a minimum of 3 years related custodial experience and hands on training/instructional experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
  • ISSA Certified Trainer Certification or ability to complete and pass the course within 12 months of employment (travel may be required).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and basic internet/intranet usage.
  • Ability to work alternate shifts as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and workflow. 
  • Experience working in a professional setting while exhibiting a high level of confidentiality and ability to maintain high working standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more of related custodial experience and hands on training/instructional experience.
  • Knowledge of cleaning in alignment with UI health and safety requirements.
  • Experience with recognizing and adapting teaching methodologies to various adult training needs.
  • Knowledge of applicable University policies, collective bargaining and union agreements and relevant federal, state and OSHA regulation.
  • Familiarity with a computerized maintenance management system (TMA), IRIS and StarRez applications.
  • Experience developing training materials, guides and manuals using applications, Power Point, Flowcharts.
