Custodian I - Second Shift - North Liberty
The University of Iowa Healthcare department of Environmental Services is seeking a Custodian to provide a safe, clean and healthy environment for patients, guests, visitors and staff of The University of Iowa Health Care. This position will be assigned at our North Liberty Campus.
The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 2025. This 469,000 square foot facility will be home to UI Health Care’s nationally recognized Orthopedics service line, offering comprehensive, coordinated, and accessible care across the outpatient, inpatient and surgical venues. These state-of-the-art clinical facilities will also include a full-service community imaging center, laboratory services, physical therapy, retail pharmacy, and emergency department as well as an array of support services. The facility has been designed to support a superior patient and staff experience; excellence across our patient care, teaching and research missions; convenient access to services; and engaging community partnerships. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
- General cleaning
- Trash removal
- Stock supplies for cart and custodial area
- Clean and disinfect restrooms/ refill restroom supplies
- Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and damp mopping hard surface floors
- Carpet cleaning
- Unit/bed making
- Wall & ceiling washing
- Furniture moves and room setups
- Use various types of custodial equipment in performance of duties
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Position may have Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Risk.
This position is performed fully on campus.
Percent of time: 100%
Schedule: Monday- Friday 5:00pm - 1:30am Every other holiday
Salary: $16.97/hour

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and follow directions
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous cleaning experience
- Experience working in a healthcare setting and working with the public
- Experience using cleaning equipment
