Data Entry Operator I
The State Hygienic Laboratory (Iowa’s Environmental and Public Health Laboratory), at the University of Iowa, under contract with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, has an exciting part-time opportunity for a newborn screening Data Entry Operator I in the Ankeny, IA facility.
The primary function of the position, under direct supervision, enters data from source materials using CRT terminal to transfer data to computer files. May perform coding of source materials before entry using specified guidelines. Operation of CRT terminal is majority of job responsibility.
Work Schedule: Part time, 20 hours a week. Wednesday-Sunday 3-6 hour shift between 11PM - 8AM.
Position Status: Part Time (50% FTE)
Work Modality: Remote within Iowa, after initial on-site training in Ankeny, IA.

Qualifications:
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
· Clerical office experience or post high school education which totals one year.
Desirable Qualifications:
· Experience working with Microsoft office Word, Excel, Teams.
· Medical or Newborn Screening experience preferred.
· Knowledge of automated data processing systems and basic computer operations.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at different levels and from various backgrounds.
· Ability to learn tasks remotely using Teams, Zoom, Skype, etc.

This position is eligible for remote work within Iowa, after the initial on-site training in Ankeny, IA, and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
