Database Administrator
Education Required
· A Bachelor’s degree in the area of Information Systems, Informatics, Business Intelligence or Business Analytics is required.
Experience Requirements
· A demonstrated ability to learn multiple software packages and programming languages is required.
· 1 year of combined employment, internship experience, and/or coursework in a related field is required. Employment and internship experience should be in an IT related area including technical support, database management, or business analytics. Recent coursework should have been successfully completed in Database Management, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, or Computer Science.
· Experience with database design and development is required.
· Knowledge of software (Visio, Excel, or Tableau), databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or Microsoft Access) and programming (XML, VBA, VB Script, or SQL) is required.
· Proficiency at query writing is required.
Desirable Qualifications
· Knowledge of descriptive statistics and experience using data management software for cleaning and analyzing large datasets (Excel, SAS, or R,) is desired.
· Expertise in data manipulation and data visualization is desired.
· Proficiency at report writing and presenting findings is desired.
· Experience accessing data from EPIC or other electronic medical record is desired
· Experience with data security practices is desired
· Experience with project management, including the ability to facilitate communication between technical and non-technical users of data is desired
