Required Qualifications
  • Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners, which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA.
  • Reasonable (1-3 years) experience in area of clinical practice, previous experience in specified hospital specialty area, or demonstrated knowledge of area of clinical practice
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical care to pediatric patients
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment
  • Demonstrated experience in orientation and training of new staff
  • Evidence of ability to function with a high degree of independence while actively collaborating with multidisciplinary health care members providing care for highly complex patients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience exercising autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided
  • Experience providing guidance, education, and support for patients both in the PICU, NICU, or SNICU.
  • Procedures and diagnosis experience in hydrocephalus, craniosynostosis, Chiari malformations, pediatric brain tumors, spastic cerebral palsy, skeletal dysplasia, and scoliosis 
  • Experience providing overall medical care and medical management for patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures
