Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetic.
Experience Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Certifications:
- Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.
- Licensure by the State of Iowa is required (those students who have successfully completed the academic and experience requirements necessary to qualify for accreditation, and who have applied for licensure may be hired if a licensed dietitian supervises them.)
Desirable Qualifications:
- Demonstrated competency of patient care in adult and geriatric populations across a wide range of medical conditions in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
- Experience in making enteral and parenteral recommendations and selecting appropriate formulas.
