Education Requirement

 

A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

 

Experience Required

 

  • Minimum 10 years comprehensive experience in budgeting, accounting, and related business administration, including supervisory experience. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and advanced knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of budgeting, fund accounting, and financial management.
     
  • Exceptional organizational and management skills, and creativity in identifying, analyzing and providing solutions to complex budget issues or scenarios.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting complex financial and budgetary information and concepts to a wide range of audiences.
  • Extensive experience in computer software applications including MS Excel, Access, Word and Power Point is required.
  • Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment is required.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and exercise a high-degree of diplomacy, discretion and collaboration in dealing with constituencies at all levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

 

Desirable Qualification

 

  • Experience in the development, implementation and ongoing utilization of automated budget/financial systems and BI reporting platforms is desired.
  • Experience in budget and fiscal oversight/responsibility of a major comprehensive research University organization/unit.
