Electrician II, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• Requires State of Iowa Class A Journeyman Electrician license with at least four years as an apprentice plus two years of experience as a journeyman electrician; Or
  
• State of Iowa Class B Journeyman Electrician license with eight years in the electrical trade in maintenance or construction.
  
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet University’s Fleet Safety Program.

Desired Qualifications: Prefer computer skills, Excel and Word, for data recording and power monitoring purposes. Prefer public contact experience. Prefer demonstrated knowledge of basic electrical principals. Prefer knowledge of emergency generator and/or electrical back-up systems. Prefer experience working with and knowledge of National Electrical Code(s).

• Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems, equipment and furnishes. Management of renovation and repair of non-capital projects;
• Exterior and interior landscape services including snow and ice removal;
• Maintain interior finishes of campus;
• Management of environmental monitoring of patient and non-patient areas and equipment;
• Manufactures and installs local signage;
• Maintains and repairs doors and doors hardware;
• Manages and maintains one of the largest pneumatic tube systems in the world.
