Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience (typically 5 years) working in an emergency management role or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emergency management planning and practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience with delivering training programs.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems/databases including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to operation with initiative while adhering to broad guidelines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and an ability to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to secure and/or provide information to clarify situations, resolve problems, and negotiate services and/or agreements. 

Special Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain UI driving policy.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Beyond 5 years’ experience working in emergency management or related field.
  • Participation in FEMA Incident Command System courses, or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Experience working in the higher education industry.
