Education Required

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

 Experience Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ experience working with computer hardware and operating systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of networking and computer operating systems.
  • Demonstrated high mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Driver's license and ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Management Driver’s safety requirements.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations and be able to return to UIHC within a 30-minute commute time to and from UIHC.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Basic working knowledge of network routing and switching technologies. 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.
  • Demonstrated ability to install, maintain and repair high performance workstation hardware.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems.
  • Working knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles. 
  • Demonstrated excellent problem-solving ability in order to resolve issues and insure functionality.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently or within a team environment.
  • Experience in the assembly, installation, troubleshooting and repair of computer hardware and software.
