Education Required

  • Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.

Experience Required

  • Two years of professional experience including some collection development work and a demonstrated interest in professional development that will enhance the candidate's value to the Libraries, the University, the profession, or the scholarly community.
  • Knowledge of current developments in information literacy instruction and scholarly communication.
  • Experience with, or demonstrated knowledge of, current and emerging technologies as they apply to collection development, instruction, and research services.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity in the workplace or community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment where consultation, flexibility, creativity, collaboration and cooperation are essential.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the mission of a research university and the mission and functions of a large research library.

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in English, Communications or related discipline.
