Education Requirement

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.


Experience Requirement

  • Minimum 6 months providing direct nursing care or management/supervision of cardiovascular medical/surgical patients OR Minimum 1 year providing direct nursing care/ care coordination within an outpatient setting required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiovascular nursing, cath/electrophysiology lab, CVICU, and/or cardiac step-down.
  • Ability to positively and effectively collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team setting. 
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

     


Certification/Licensure Requirement

  • Current certification in BLS required by start date.
  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa required by start date.


Desired Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years providing clinical experience with pacemaker and ICD interrogations and reprogramming including remote monitoring desired.
  • Demonstrated competency in interrogation of pacemakers and ICDs.
  • Competence in in-person and remote monitoring of single, dual and CRT pacing systems, implanted cardiac defibrillators and implanted loop recorders.
  • Experience in an academic medical setting desired.
  • Previous experience using Epic desired.
  • Current RCES, CCDS, or CEPS certification desired.
