Fabrication Specialist
Education Required:
BS/BA/BFA degree in theatrical production for theatre and/or opera or equivalent educational and professional experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years’ experience beyond the BS/BA/BFA degree is required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently from costume renderings, drawings, and sketches with only verbal instructions from the Costume Manager. Demonstrated professional working proficiency level.
- Working experience and demonstrable skill in costume construction including, draping, pattern creation, cutting, sewing, and costume crafts
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in the creation of Millinery
- Ability to mix dye and alter color with the use of a commercial dye vat.
- Experience in the creation of fantasy costumes such as cosplay, Carnivale, and Historical Reenactments.
- Working experience in teaching students/mentoring inexperienced students in theatrical costume construction techniques
- Sewing machine repair and maintenance.
