Education Required:
- BS/BA/BFA degree in theatrical production for theatre, dance and/or opera or equivalent educational and professional experience.
Required Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in major university or professional costume shop
- Demonstrated ability to work independently from costume renderings, drawings, and sketches with only verbal instructions from the Costume Manager.
- Working experience in costume construction including, draping, pattern creation, cutting, sewing, wigs, and costume crafts.
- Detail oriented while demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and an independent thinker who consistently meets deadlines, resolves conflicting priorities, and has outstanding interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in the creation of Millinery.
- Ability to mix dye and alter color with the use of a commercial dye vat.
- Experience in the creation of dance costumes.
- Experience with student performers and/or crews in an academic shop or production environment.
- Sewing machine repair and maintenance.
