University Housing & Dining (UH&D) is seeking a Facilities Mechanic III to perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the repair, servicing, and maintenance of buildings, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and air conditioning equipment.

 

Shift is 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday, with on-call and overtime as necessary to meet department needs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must possess a basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, maintenance of steam and mechanical equipment.
  • Must have 4 years of work experience in the skilled trades, including apprenticeship or technical training.  At least two years of this experience must be in the same craft.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the UI Fleet Safety Driving Record Review Standards.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Working experience performing service or maintenance in a large facility (examples: residence hall, apartment complex, hospital, school, etc.)
