Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Working experience (typically 6 months or more) in college or university recreation facility/program management or comparable community recreation experience.
  • Commitment to and alignment with the values of the Division of Student Life, including demonstrated active commitment to excellence through diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Basic ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices and tools to developing and improving individual performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative climate that recognizes and promotes diversity and individual growth in multicultural competency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to creatively and effectively resolve conflicts or complaints.
  • Working experience with standard office computer applications, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Current CPR, AED, and First-Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within one month of hire).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation Administration, Sports Management or related field.
  • Six months or more of supervisory experience including supervising students in a college or university setting.
  • Six months of more of supervisory experience over staff using recreational management software.
  • Working experience with event scheduling and special event support.
