Faculty Affairs Manager
The College of Nursing is seeking a Faculty Affairs Manager. In collaboration with the College of Nursing’s Dean’s Office, Faculty Divisions, and College of Nursing Human Resources, this role serves as a leader, consultant, and resource on academic University and collegiate policies, procedures, and processes related to the faculty life cycle. Key responsibilities include overseeing faculty onboarding, coordinating annual and periodic peer review processes, and managing promotion and tenure reviews. As a liaison to the Provost’s Office and Registrar’s Office, this position prioritizes exceptional customer service for the college and its stakeholders. As a member of Dean’s Office support staff, this role also contributes as a collaborative team member in Dean’s office functions and events.

Key Areas of Responsibilities
Operational and Financial Management
- Coordinates and manages administrative procedures associated with all faculty affairs within the College of Nursing.
- Coordinates, interprets policies for promotion and tenure (P & T) process including communication and maintenance of records.
- Coordinates the processes of annual reviews of faculty, periodic peer reviews of clinical track faculty and five-year post tenure peer review of tenured faculty. Primary contact for the Faculty Review Annual Process (FRAP) database maintenance. Updates Faculty Review websites and sets annual deadlines.
- Tracks faculty Professional Development Awards and coordinates the communication between the Dean’s office and the Provost’s office.
- Assists Executive Associate Dean and Division Heads with faculty awards and coordinates faculty awards with the Dean’s office and other departments as needed.
- Supports the College of Nursing national and international visiting scholars’ program.
- Acts as liaison between the Dean’s office and Provost’s office.
- Serves as a reference and resource for the Dean’s Office on Collegiate and University policies related to faculty recruitment, types of faculty appointments, and faculty review, including communicating changes and new policies to division heads and administrative staff.
- Assists with budget development and provides projections and recommendations for applicable budgets.
- Manages and approves transactions for accounts as appropriate.
- Provides administrative support for calendar appointments and meeting set up including scheduling, catering, room reservations and event support as needed, as well as travel arrangements for administration as directed.
- Assists with Dean’s Office events, as needed.
Human Resources
- Partners with College of Nursing HR to coordinate faculty searches from requisition initiation to hire (includes requisition initiation, search committee training, faculty interview scheduling, etc.).
- Assists the Executive Associate Dean, College of Nursing HR and Division Heads on implementing programming for the new faculty cohort, including attending sessions, preparing materials, presenting training, and communicating with new faculty.
- In collaboration with College of Nursing HR, coordinates faculty waiver of search requests.
- Attends Provost’s Office sponsored Faculty Human Resources Representative meetings.
- Coordinates and maintains all faculty effort reporting.
- Coordinates with Associate Deans’ adjunct faculty appointments and renewals.
- Manages Special Title Database for faculty who assume administrative roles or named professors and chairs.
- Coordinates special circumstance appointments with the Dean, Executive Associate Dean, and College of College of Nursing HR. Which can include joint appointments/MOU’s, named professorship submissions, expedited tenure requests upon hire, and administrative appointments for Division Heads and Directors.
Information Management
- Creates and distributes documentation to departmental administrators on updates in policies and procedures. Coordinates compliance of those policies.
- Serves as a reference and resource for the Dean’s Office on Collegiate and University policies related to faculty recruitment, types of faculty appointments, and faculty review, including communicating changes and new policies to department chairs and administrative staff.
- Monitors the collegiate policies website information for updates.
- Maintains collegiate faculty policies in the CON Policy Manual including revisions
- Monitors College of Nursing website updates for faculty information and provides any updates to the appropriate individual.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience (typically, 3+ years) in administrative supervisory, and/or program coordination experience.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose grammatically correct documents in a concise, logical and organized manner.
- Knowledge of administrative processes and associated operating requirements and experience working with a customer service focus; ability to apply this knowledge to a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated experience with effective relationship building skills that develop the ability to clearly communicate and effectively work with faculty, staff and student populations in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Extensive knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in using desktop office support tools (e.g., calendaring, Microsoft Office programs, word processing, e-mail, presentation software, spreadsheets, and HR information systems, Office 365 applications such as SharePoint)
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, business administration, public administration, human resources or related field.
- Experience with project planning and project management.
- Experience in budget management, oversight and reporting experience.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures within a higher education institution.
