Financial Analyst - Cancer Center

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 1 year accounting and/or financial experience
• Exhibit a high degree of conscientiousness, self-motivation, and a passion for continuous learning, with a strong desire to tackle tough and challenging projects
• Experience managing complex financial information requiring strong attention to detail
• General knowledge of accounting practices
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer software applications, including Microsoft Excel

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with financial contracts
• Experience with University insurance and/or billing process
• Experience with or knowledge of clinical trials/human subject research
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Experience with University of Iowa accounting financial systems, business policies, procedures, and regulations
• Experience preparing and negotiating budgets
