Fire Safety Supervisor - Safety & Security
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of eduation and experience is required
- 1 year of experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, and commissioning
- The ability to read and interpret building plans, diagrams, architectural blueprints and specifications
- Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the mechanical, electrical, and building trades
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the University of Iowa Fleet Safety Standards
Desirable Qualifications
- Ability to plan and estimate fire alarm system installation in accordance with International Building Code (IBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 72, National Electrical Code, and all applicable local and state codes
- Experience implementing process improvements in the workplace
- NICET II certification in Fire Protection Field (Alarm, Water, Special Hazard)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to develop system specifications
