Position Summary:
The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm. Work schedule changes during summer and academic break periods. Schedule for summer and break periods will vary depending upon operational needs. May work other hours & overtime for special events and to cover absences.
Supervises, hires, evaluates, trains, coaches, assigns and coordinates the work activities of student employees and other staff as assigned. Supervises operational set-up and close, a variety of food service duties/ responsibilities and maintaining cleanliness of food service areas and equipment. Monitors financials, promote financial success of location, cash register procedures and cash handling.
Specific Job Duties & Tasks:
- Supervises Food Worker personnel in performance of food service tasks in cafeterias, dining rooms, banquet rooms, vending areas.
- Opens food service center; secures kitchen and dining areas at the close of daily serving period as shift may dictate.
- Coordinates overall food center operations and food center inventory management; promotes financial success of operation.
- Participates in evaluating performance of personnel.
- Arranges and assists in arranging for parties, conference luncheons, catering services, etc., and assist in preparation of dining areas and serving of food.
- Arranges for added regular and student help for special activities requiring food service and for student served meals.
- Supervises and participates in the work of kitchen and dining areas as required.
- Assists in service and dining areas as required.

Required Qualifications:
- One year experience as Food Service Coordinator I or comparable experience in food distribution.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience hiring and scheduling employees.
