Graduate Program Coordinator
Position Qualifications
Education or Equivalency Required:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 1-3 years of experience working directly with students as an academic advisor advising for graduation requirements or in a related student services position in which the primary responsibility in the position consists of one-on-one meetings with students concerning academic and college policies and requirements.
Familiarity with undergraduate or graduate academic policies and practices.
Evidence of success in working with multiple stakeholders including prospective students, students, alumni, directors, healthcare executives or adjunct faculty.
Proficiency in computer software applications with working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, PowerPoint, web-editing, social media and the ability to learn new university systems, such as MAUI.
Extensive interpersonal skills, including the ability to perform a wide variety of tasks while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Extensive experience maintaining confidentiality.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in an education setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to address the advising needs of students who are struggling academically.
Ability to travel to local, regional and national student recruitment events and educational conferences.
Desirable Qualifications:
3-5 years of administrative experience in an academic environment.
Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures and regulations.
A Master’s degree in Student Development in Postsecondary Education, Public Health or related area.
Position and Application Details:
This position is eligible for on campus or hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.
