Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent);
  • Five (5) or more years successful intercollegiate or national/international/Olympic women’s rowing team coaching experience and superior knowledge of the techniques and strategies of the sport of rowing;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and adherence to regulatory expectations;
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting and evaluating national caliber student-athletes who can be successful at the Division I level;
  • Demonstrated skills in administration, leadership, organization, training and coaching necessary to conduct a successful intercollegiate program;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated through public speaking engagements, clinician experience, and/or use of effective and creative training/coaching techniques;
  • Ability to work constructively and collaboratively in a diverse environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to Utilize basic office support software (word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets);
  • A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards and transport large trailers of equipment safely and efficiently.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Successful NCAA Division I head rowing coach experience;
  • Working knowledge of and ability to:
    • Utilize TeamWorks and/or other NCAA compliance software such as ACS or JumpForward or similar;
    • Operate effectively within a highly regulated team environment;
  • Experience utilizing technology or social media to enhance instruction and/or communication;
