Health Records Specialist - Department of Epidemiology
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Medical Records or a human health science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in medical records, epidemiology, or disease data collection.
3-5 years of cancer registry experience, including experience coordinating the processing, coding, and reporting of cancer data and the performance of critical review the data.
Microsoft office product proficiency (i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint, TEAMS).
The ability to travel overnight occasionally.
Provide a home-based office, including security and a network provider to facilitate the transmission of electronic data to the central office or to receive electronic information/data
Certification as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-c) or ODS eligible (requires knowledge in anatomy, physiology, cancer terminology, and tumor classifications and coding systems, including ICD-O, ICD-9-CM).
Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to function independently, needing minimal guidance.
Evidence of good verbal and written communication skills.
