Education Requirement:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field. If Master’s Degree is in related field, Baccalaureate in Nursing is required
  • If qualified applicant does not have Master’s Degree in Nursing, the applicant will need to complete an advanced degree in nursing, health care administration, or business administration within five years of beginning this position
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa or ability to obtain an Iowa license by date of hire is required
Experience Required:
  • 4+ years of acute care clinical experience (within last year)
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership/management
  • Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with physicians, staff, patients, and families
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications
  • Experience modeling service excellence principles/standards
  • Demonstrated experience promoting a diverse workforce/academic environment
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Certification in a role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional nursing certification body. If not currently certified, must seek certification in a role or specialty as soon as eligible to sit for the exam
  • Experience working in large academic medical center
  • ICU or Emergency Department clincial experience
