The Iowa River Landing Clinic is seeking a 100% Imaging Technologist. Perform and teach specialized diagnostic and research imaging and spectroscopic procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.
 

Position Responsibilities:

Imaging Technologist with primary duties in multiple modalities, including CT, General Diagnostic Radiography, and Mammography. Utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam.

  • Perform radiography procedures using a variety of imaging equipment with close patient monitoring. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision.
  • Provides instruction to trainees, medical staff and students on operational safety precautions.
  • Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient
  • Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles of interactions with patient and staff.
  • Utilize standard safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risk to patients, personnel and equipment.
  • Prepare and administer contrast material to patients under radiologist’s supervision as required
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Percent of Time: 100%

Schedule: 40 hours/week will be accomplished Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 8:30pm and Friday, 7:00am - 5:30pm. This position will be part of the weekend, evening, and holiday rotations.

Rotations: Saturday coverage rotation: 8:00am – 12:30pm.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) is required.
  • Current Permit to practice in the State of Iowa for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation-emitting equipment is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Membership in appropriate professional organizations
  • Recent work or clinical education experience in CT or Mammography
  • CT modality training
  • CT or Mammography certification or eligible
  • Experience and/or certification in other modalities
