Immigration Administrative Coordinator
The Immigration Administrative Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the success of University HumanResources by performing key administrative functions for Faculty and Staff Immigration Services. Core responsibilitiesinclude managing incoming and outgoing mail and packages, maintaining and updating records in the HRIS database,and serving as a liaison between University of Iowa hiring departments and University Shared Services to facilitateaccounting transactions.
This position also supports immigration casework by preparing preliminary and post-filing memos for cases managedby external legal counsel, reviewing client-submitted documents for completeness, and maintaining both paper andelectronic case files. The coordinator serves as a licensed user and primary contact for the eImmigrationAir softwareplatform, ensuring accurate data entry and case tracking.
Additional duties include responding to general inquiries or routing them to the appropriate contacts, supportingspecial projects as assigned, and ensuring all tasks are completed with a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, andindependent judgment. Proficiency in a variety of software platforms—including eImmigrationAir, Adobe, MicrosoftOutlook, Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint are essential.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of academic credentials and relevant professional experience.
- Six to twelve months of experience providing administrative support within a dynamic, multifaceted, and compliance-driven environment
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in providing superior customer service
- Experience in managing multiple tasks simultaneously, including the ability to prioritize time sensitive tasks
- Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, planning, and follow-up skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and strengthen working relationships with a variety of populations, including internal and external constituents, through positive interaction and collaboration
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and other computer software applications

- Knowledge of University of Iowa policies, procedures, and regulations
- Knowledge of U.S. employment-based immigration laws and regulations
- Experience in program/service development or quality improvement projects.
- Demonstrated independent thinking skills to develop alternative solutions and solve problems
Experience with accounting processes, budgets and productivity data.
