Informatics Specialist - Clinical Informatics
Position Qualifications:
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience Requirements
Typically 3-5 years of experience in a clinical role in a complex health care environment such as a large medical center or teaching hospital.
Typically 1-3 years of experience contributing to a clinical information system implementation cycle in areas such as design, workflow analysis, build, training, implementation and support in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
Ability to lead change in a complex academic healthcare environment and promote the understanding and effective use of information technology across departments.
Experience authoring training materials and leading training sessions in a variety of formats.
Excellent communication skills at the verbal, written and presentation level. Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
A current license to practice nursing in Iowa.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote).
Experience working independently with a strong focus on customer service.
Demonstrated job-related experience and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
Highly Desirable Qualification
Clinical practice experience at an academic medical center
Desirable Qualifications
Master’s level preparation or working towards Master’s with clinical specialist or management coursework.
Experience using Epic in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
Certification in nursing specialty or role
Experience translating customer requirements into system design specifications.
Ability to assess learning needs and match to the most effective education methods.
Previous experience providing 24x7 on-call support.
