 This position requires the following minimum position qualifications:
  • A Master’s Degree in Instructional Development or Design, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience (typically 1-3 years) in course design and development, as well as creating instructional and training materials for online delivery. Experience working with online instructional technologies.
  • Demonstrates working proficiency, knowledge of, and the ability to  :
    • Evaluate academic assessment methods and activities, assess research and instructional programs, and review students' learning outcomes to ensure achievement of academic objectives and strategies.
    • Apply concepts and practices of adult learning and design in the development of distance learning courses.
    • Utilize distance learning tools and techniques for development and delivery of distance learning courses.
    • Execute relevant instructional design concepts and processes; ability to design instructional content to meet the learning needs of a target population.
    • Proficiently use standard office software applications, web page editors, graphic software, and basic HTML.
    • Work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner and effectively communicate using strong written and verbal English grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage, and pronunciation.
    • Manage multiple concurrent projects or activities and effectively prioritize and allocate time and resources.
    • Use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.

The following are highly desired position qualifications:

  • Extensive experience (typically 3+ years) in course development and/or redesign, as well as creating instructional and training materials. Extensive experience working with online instructional technologies.
  • Experience with digital media solutions in creating interactive teaching and learning tools.
  • Experience working with instructional technologies such as course management systems, wikis, lecture capture, and virtual classrooms.
  • Experience developing rubrics to assess student performance and/or course development.

Compensation: The successful incumbent may be hired at a salary within the budget parameters of $49,031-$70,000 which is within the pay level 5A range.
