The Human Subjects Office (HSO), at the University of Iowa is seeking IRB Application Analysts, to provide administrative assistance and expertise for the human subjects protection programs and services administered by the HSO.  Pre-screen IRB applications to provide initial review. Assist with coordination of the activities and interactions with the Institutional Review Boards (IRB), other University committees, and UI investigators.

Work Modality
: Hybrid within Iowa.

This position is 
eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

About the Human Subjects Office
The Human Subjects Office was established by the Office of the Vice President for Research to provide administrative support for the University of Iowa Institutional Review Boards, the Conflict of Interest in Research Program, the Clinical Trials.Gov program, the HRPP\IRB Education and Outreach Program and the Compliance Monitoring Program. The HSO serves as a central hub for all other review and approval aspects of the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP).

Qualifications:

Education or Equivalency Required
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications

·         Current and relevant research or medical administration experience (typically 6 months to 1 year).

·         Research Compliance: Demonstrates basic level of proficiency regarding research regulations.

·         Problem Solving: Demonstrates working level of proficiency identifying problems and obtaining resolution alternatives.

·         Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Demonstrates working level of proficiency processing information with good accuracy. Evidence of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

·         Communicating for Effective Relationships: Demonstrates working level of proficiency in facilitating collaborative communication and working well with others in a professional environment.

·         Service Excellence/Customer Focus: Demonstrates working level of proficiency listening to feedback and adding value to customer interactions.

Desirable Qualifications

·         One or more years' experience conducting research involving human participants, or in a related administrative role supporting human subjects research OR One or more years' experience working with federal regulations.

·         Working knowledge of university policies and federal regulations regarding research.

·         Technical experience with an electronic research application database or other data management system or electronic workflow system.
