Required Education

  • Graduate degree from an ALA-accredited program in Library and Information Science on or by May 31, 2019

Required qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity in an academic environment, in a workplace setting, and/or in the community.
  • Demonstrated experience taking on new challenges and opportunities with initiative and creativity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based setting where consultation, flexibility, reliability, collaboration and cooperation are essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated interest in professional development that will enhance the candidate’s value to the Libraries, the University, and the profession.

Desired qualifications:

  • Ability to articulate awareness of inequities and challenges faced by historically underrepresented or economically disadvantaged groups.
  • Classwork, certifications (such as Academy of Certified Archivists (ACA) certification), concentration(s), or additional degree(s) in special collections, archives, or records management (such as the Records and Information Management (RIM) certificate).
  • Demonstrated understanding of Encoded Archival Descriptions (EAD) and Describing Archives: A Content Standard (DACS) 
  • Experience working with archival collections in a variety of formats
