Licensed Practical Nurse - UI Health Care Urbandale Clinic 100%
The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient-centered 100% Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in our NEW Urbandale Clinic. Our Licensed Practical Nurses are responsible to help a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric, ensure patient care standards are met, and provide access to additional care options. This position is part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment, rich with opportunities for learning and growth. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages teamwork between multiple disciplinary teams to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients.

*Initial training and work will be based at our Johnston Clinic until our Urbandale location opens.*
Duties to include:
- Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
- Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
- In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.

Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week)
Schedule: Variable hours 8am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday; no weekends, no on call, no holidays

Pay Grade: 11
Salary: $44557.92 - $66377.52 (based on years of experience)
MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
Special Qualifications
- Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards
- Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours
HIGHLY DESIRABLE REQUIREMENT
- Minimum two year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/LPN
Desirable Requirement
- Previous experience in a pediatric clinic
- Previous experience in a pediatric/adult specialty clinic
- Previous phlebotomy experience
- Previous experience with computer skills and ability to navigate EMR – Epic, Word, etc.
