Management Services Director

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required

7 or more years of demonstrated experience with facilities maintenance in an academic medical center, large hospital, or healthcare setting.

Demonstrated leadership ability planning skills with project management experience and sound building practices in an academic medical center, large hospital, or healthcare setting.

Must have strong critical thinking skills and ability to effectively manage high risk, time-sensitive situations effectively.

Experience in federal, state, and local codes and ordinances as well as The Joint Commission and other accreditation bodies required.

Proven financial and operational track record demonstrating an understanding of the key factors within the management of healthcare organizations.

Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment is required.

Proven experience in planning, organizing, administering, coordinating, reviewing, evaluating, and personally participating effectively in the management of facilities.

Skilled in developing and directing the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, management systems, work standards and program evaluation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Demonstrated creativity and critical thinking skills with a strong vision for the future of facilities management.

Experience in design and construction in a large hospital or healthcare setting.

Desirable Qualifications

Management of groups of trades and crafts persons, contract, and budget administration.

Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) through the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE)

Demonstrated experience in using sustainable design.

Proven success for driving results and instilling accountability throughout the team and organization.

Proven collaborator and consensus builder – someone who has a track record of successfully partnering with diverse constituencies, particularly medical staff.

Experience in unionized environments.
