University of Iowa Surplus is seeking a Motor Vehicle Operator II. This position will be responsible for pick-up and delivery of goods and freight from General Stores and Central Receiving to customers within the University of Iowa. They will be responsible for intake and put away of shipments of goods and freight, as well as tracking and logging of items. The person in this position will routinely be required moving items up to 100 pounds. The University of Iowa offers a generous benefits package, which may be viewed at: https://hr.uiowa.edu/benefits.
Duties to include:
- Picking up furniture & equipment from buildings on campus using moving equipment and taking it to surplus
- Organize goods and items by delivery location and prepare them for delivery.
- Load university vehicles as required by hand or by using proper equipment.
- Check in items delivered by a surplus and prepare for sale or other property disposition.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Location: Mossman Business Services Building/University of Iowa campus
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- One year experience driving trucks.
- Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license and ability to meet and maintain University Driving Policy standards.
Special Qualifications:
- A valid driver’s license is required, as well as an ability to meet University of Iowa Driving Policy
Desirable Qualifications:
- Basic computer experience.
- Good communication skills and experience working on a team.
- Experience securing loads of cargo.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Two years’ experience driving a truck.
- Experience operating moving equipment, such as two-wheel hand cart or multi-wheel dolly.
