Music Therapist - University Medical Center Rehab Therapies
Required Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to the practice of Music Therapy is required or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• Entry-level experience in acute care hospital setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Certifications Required
• Current certification with the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) as a Music Therapist-Board Certified (MT- BC)
Desirable Qualifications
• 1-3 years experience facilitating music therapy interventions
• Demonstrated experience leading group based music therapy interventions
• Demonstrated clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry/behavioral health services
• Demonstrated experience with basic counseling skills, behavioral management, treatment of mental illness including anxiety, depression, eating disorder, bipolar disorder, dementia care
• Demonstrated clinical experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults with complex developmental needs
• Demonstrated experience within a pediatric intensive care unit and/or neonatal intensive care unit developmental care model
• Demonstrated experience in palliative care, grief and loss
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Demonstrated experience as part of a multidisciplinary medical team
• Job-related experience with and/or commitment to service excellence
