   Education Requirement:

  • An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.

   Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum of three (3) years RN neonatal ICU, level III nursery, or PICU experience or three (3) years RN pediatric emergency nursing is required.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • General computer skills/competency

   Certification/Licensure Requirement:

  • Current license to practice nursing in the state of Iowa is required by the date of hire.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Must obtain an applicable specialty certification within 2 years of hire.

   Desired Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Nursing is highly preferred.
  • If Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desirable.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
  • Neonatal Pediatric Transport experience is desired.
