EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

A Master's degree is required. A Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.  If Master's degree is in related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required.


Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP): 
Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Nursing which include graduation from an accredited Master's or Doctorate level nursing educational program and certification by an accepted accrediting agency. 

Current license to practice nursing in Iowa.
Current certification in specialty area and/or licensure as ARNP in state of Iowa. 
Demonstrated experience in area of clinical practice 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Physician Assistant (PA):  
Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accreditied PA educational program and certification by the NCCPA.

Current license to practice in Iowa.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in area of clinical practice.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Reasonable (3-5 years) experience in the specialty area of neuroscience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable (3-5 years) experience in the specialty area of neuroscience, with 1-3 years of this experience as an Advanced Practice Provider.   
Experience with patient and staff education. 
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new programs. 
Experience with evidence based practice or research utilization.  
Participation in professional PA/ARNP organizations.
