REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree with a major concentration in Social Work is required.
 
Some (6 months – 1 year) Social Work experience is required. 
 
A license to practice social work in Iowa is required.
 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
 
Experience using EPIC or EHR systems.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Some familiarity with social work undergraduate education

Social work experience in an academic health care setting with an emphasis on social work assessment and discharge planning with primarily adult patients and their families. 

Case management or care coordination experience.

The ability to manage multiple tasks at once, to maintain positive relationships with team members and 
the ability to understand, interpret, and respond appropriately to the emotions of patients, families and
peers. 

Flexibility to collaborate as part of many dynamic care teams, as well as good problem solving skills 
required, including ability to effect change and resolve recalcitrant problems.

Experience with financial resources, including insurance coverage options, changes related to the 
affordable care act, and the disability process, as well as community resources, home healthcare 
and nursing facility placements available for patients in outpatient settings.

Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team and/or clinic; works well with a variety of 
care providers

Experience in a multidisciplinary Movement Disorders or Parkinson’s Disease clinic

Demonstrated interest in working with patients who have neurogenetic or neuromuscular diseases

Knowledge of UI policies and procedures

References
