Position Qualifications

Education or Equivalency Required
Master’s degree in Public Health, Genetics, or related field.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated 3 years’ experience with laboratory testing.
  • Demonstrated experience with laboratory research and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience providing project oversight and ability to prepare successful grants and manuscripts.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to meet the UI Fleet Safety Driving Record Review Standards

Highly Desirable Qualifications
  • Demonstrated 3 years’ experience with newborn screening, human genetics, or closely related field.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with: newborn screening laboratory testing, newborn screening clinical follow up, newborn screening collaborative research.
  • Demonstrated experience with Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) human subjects research training.
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic medical/health record systems (EMR/HER).
  • Demonstrated experience with Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications.
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic grant submission processes such as Cayuse.
  • Demonstrated experience with presentations of data at national meetings, meetings related to newborn screening is preferred.
