Required Qualifications:

  • A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required.
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire.
  • 1-3 years recent RN experience on an adult unit caring for wound & ostomy patients is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in wound & ostomy care of practice is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Required to complete education by an accredited Wound Ostomy Education program and obtain certification in Wound & Ostomy care through WOCNCB within 6 months of employment is required.
  • Experience with patient education is required.
  • Considerable experience using computer software applications for documentation and education purposes is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment is required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctorate level degree in Nursing is desired.
  • Membership in professional organizations is desired.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and lead change is desired.
  • Experience with staff education is desired.
