Nurse Manager - Labor and Delivery
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field. If Master’s Degree is in related field, Baccalaureate in Nursing is required
- If qualified applicant does not have Master’s Degree in Nursing, the applicant will need to complete an advanced degree in nursing, health care administration, or business administration within five years of beginning this position
Required Qualifications:
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa or ability to obtain an Iowa license by date of hire is required
- Recent experience in clinical practice
- Considerable (3-5 years) experience and demonstrated skill in leadership/management roles
- At least two years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Experience with unit operations including human resources, financial management, quality management, and compliance with regulatory environment with various federal and state agencies and the Joint Commission
- Demonstrated experience with patient/family satisfactiion initiatives including modeling service excellence principles/standards
- Demonstrated experience with staff engagement initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with patient/family satisfaction initiatives and staff engagement
- Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with physicians, staff, patients, families, outside agencies/vendors, and the community
- Must be proficient in computer software applications
- Experience working in large academic medical center
- Experience working in pediatric nursing
- Experience working in Postpartum and Antepartum Nursing, with Obstetrics and Gynecology physicians in a multidisciplinary environment
- Experience with Fetal Monitoring, BLS, ACLS and NRP
- Experience working in union environment
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing or Fetal Monitoring
