Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and follow instructions

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of unit and departmental routines and facilitates patient throughput
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, patients, and the public
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Obtain medical assistance for any patient who becomes ill while in area.  Responds appropriately in emergencies within the nursing assistant scope of practice
  • Answer all phone calls by 2nd or 3rd ring when workload permits and uses appropriate identification information
  • Transfer calls to appropriate areas and answers questions by callers
  • Use intercom system to page appropriately
  • Accept and acts upon constructive criticism
  • Maintain clean, organized work area
  • Adhere to established schedule and rules regarding breaks, planned time off, unplanned timed off
  • Facilitate communication of patient “hand off” information
