Education Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Nursing or related field. If Master’s degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.

• Must obtain an advanced degree in nursing, health care administration, or business administration within five (5) years of beginning this position.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience and success within a neonatal and/or pediatric nursing leader/manager position. Includes clinical nursing operations, performance management, regulatory oversight, and budget/finances. Outpatient/ambulatory setting preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage within a multi-disciplinary team.

• Previous experience providing direct nursing care in neonatal/pediatric transport.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and build professional relationships while collaborating effectively and positively with physicians, staff, patients/families, and other internal and external customers.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.

• Proven job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.

• Ability to provide evening/weekend coverage as necessary.

• Ability to travel for training and education.

Certification/Licensure Requirements:

• Current license to practice nursing in Iowa or ability to obtain an Iowa license upon hire.

• Current BLS required by start date.

• NRP and PALS certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.

• Certification in a role or specialty through a nationally recognized professional certification body. If not currently certified, must seek certification in a role or specialty as soon as eligible to sit for the exam.

Desired Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience and success within a neonatal and/or pediatric nursing leader/manager position. Includes clinical nursing operations, performance management, regulatory oversight, and budget/finances. Outpatient/ambulatory setting preferred.

• Prior experience within an academic medical setting.

• Some knowledge of University policies and procedures.

• Experience with scheduling and payroll processing in ELMS or other payroll systems.
