Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field.  If Master’s Degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Must obtain an advanced degree in nursing, health care administration or business administration within five (5) years of beginning this position.
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa or ability to obtain an Iowa license upon hire.
  • 3-5 years of RN clinical nursing experience is required.
  • Previous management of personnel experience is required.
  • Current experience leading/managing transitions in care.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications.
  • Knowledge of payers and processes of authorizations, reviews, denial management, and medical necessity.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
  • Utilization management reporting experience is required.
  • Previous experience performing Utilization Reviews in a RN capacity is required.
  • Demonstrated job related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience involving high-volume public contact customer service is highly desired.
  • Previous experience working in an electronic medical record is highly desired.
