Nursing Manager - Utilization Management
- Master’s degree in Nursing or related field. If Master’s Degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
- Must obtain an advanced degree in nursing, health care administration or business administration within five (5) years of beginning this position.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa or ability to obtain an Iowa license upon hire.
- 3-5 years of RN clinical nursing experience is required.
- Previous management of personnel experience is required.
- Current experience leading/managing transitions in care.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Must be proficient in computer software applications.
- Knowledge of payers and processes of authorizations, reviews, denial management, and medical necessity.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
- Utilization management reporting experience is required.
- Previous experience performing Utilization Reviews in a RN capacity is required.
- Demonstrated job related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment
- Previous experience involving high-volume public contact customer service is highly desired.
- Previous experience working in an electronic medical record is highly desired.
