Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing is required
  • Current license to practice nursing in Iowa
  • 3+ years of clinical nursing experience including a minimum of 1 year in a clinical leadership role in a similar setting
  • Experience contributing to a clinical information system implementation cycle through areas such as design, workflow analysis, build, training, implementation and support in an ambulatory or hospital setting
  • Ability to lead change in a complex academic healthcare environment and promote the understanding and effective use of information technology across departments
  • Experience authoring training materials and leading training sessions in a variety of formats
  • Excellent communication skills at the verbal, written and presentation level. Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff
  • Proven project management skills: ability to coordinate activities and projects across departments, time management, organization of workload, analytical decision- making skills, attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote)
  • Experience working independently with a strong focus on customer service
  • Demonstrated job-related experience and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, education, clinical experience and/or change management, in the ambulatory setting preferred
  • Understanding of and familiarity with the UIHC professional practice environment
  • Experience in an academic health care environment
  • Certification in a professional nursing role or specialty area
  • DNP or PhD in Nursing or related field
  • Experience with the Magnet Recognition Program® and designation process
