Nursing Practice Leader - Nursing Informatics

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Nursing; if Master’s degree is in a related field, Baccalaureate in Nursing is required
• Current license to practice nursing in Iowa
• Minimum 3-5 years clinical experience in a health care environment preferably in a large medical center or teaching hospital.
• Proven project management skills: ability to coordinate activities and projects across departments, time management, organization of workload, analytical decision-making skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of products (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint).
• Experience working independently with a strong focus on customer service.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and interdisciplinary team leadership skills with a commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Professional certification in relevant leadership or clinical specialty; if not certified will obtain within the 1^st year
• Clinical practice experience at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
• Experience using Epic in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
• 1-3 years of experience contributing to a clinical information system implementation cycle through areas such as design, workflow analysis, build, training, implementation, and support in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
• Certification in nursing specialty or role.
• Ability to assess learning needs and match to the most effective education methods.
• Experience authoring training materials and leading training sessions in a variety of formats.
• Member/involvement in professional organizations
