Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3-5 years experience as an Oncology Data Specialist, Registrar, or other related roles.

  • Active Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) Certification

  • Proficiency in software applications, including but not limited to EPIC, CNExT, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Relevant experience in the field of quality assurance

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Directly related experience with and knowledge of Oncology program requirements for: The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS CoC) and related accreditations; National Cancer Institute Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Result (SEER); National Cancer Data Base (NCDB); American Joint Commission on Cancer TNM Cancer Staging and Collaborative Staging (AJCC); International Classification of Diseases for Oncology (ICD-9 & 10) codes; and the State Health Registry of Iowa (SHRI).

  • Knowledge of Oncology medical terminology, including anatomy, biology and physiology

  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures and regulations
