Physician Assistant (PA):  Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA. 

 

Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP):  A Master’s degree is required.  A Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred.  If a Master’s degree is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required.

 

ARNP - Current certification in specialty area and licensure as ARNP in state of Iowa is required.

 

Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa is required.

 

Reasonable (1-3 years) experience in area of practice is required or previous experience in specified hospital specialty area or demonstrated knowledge of area of clinical practice.

 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

 

Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with diverse faculty, staff and students is required.

 

Completion of Obesity Medicine Association sponsored fellowship is highly desired.

 

Previous experience establishing and developing a clinical weight management practice is highly desired.

 

Experience in area of diabetes is highly desirable.
