The University of Iowa Parking & Transportation is seeking a highly motivated person to work as a Dispatcher II. This position monitors and coordinates the daily operational activities of parking operations work unit utilizing telephone, radio, and intercom calls. Responsible for monitoring attendant work shifts, counting pay station collections, and assigning resources to resolve operational issues. Monitors intercom, radio, camera, phone, and software systems. Responsible for coordinating personnel and resources during university events. Responsible for ensuring the office and money counting areas are secure at all times. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.

Duties to Include:

  • Monitors attendants at University Parking Facilities and during University Events.

  • Monitors and coordinates the activity and performance of system-wide parking access and revenue control equipment via system alerts and intercom calls.
  • Counts and consolidates cashiered parking revenue according to University Cash Handling Requirements.
  • Prepares bank deposits and coordinates armored car transports.
  • Responds to telephone, radio, intercom, and direct public contact. Dispatches personnel to address in the field issues. Assigns appropriate personnel and resources to solve issues in the field.

Location: West Campus Transportation Center

Schedule: Wednesday through Saturday, 7:40pm-6:10am

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Any combination of clerical education or experience and/or college or university level course work which is equivalent to three years of full-time employment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service/public contact experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills; verbal and written
  • Familiarity with UI Campus
